Vicki and her husband, David, are the parents of two daughters, Emily and Annie. Vicki has worked in the field of developmental disabilities since Annie was born in 1988 with Rett Syndrome. Being Annie’s mom changed her life… for the better. Vicki came to appreciate not only the challenges faced by people with disabilities, but also the tremendous gifts they have to offer. Annie lived for 12 short years, but her lessons live on.
Vicki is deeply committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities. She began working for the Arc-King County when Annie was two years old. She coordinated two different support programs for parents of children with disabilities. She then worked as an Inclusion Specialist for the Bellevue School District, promoting and facilitating inclusive education for students with significant disabilities.
Vicki holds an MBA from the University of Washington and worked in the financial world for 8 years. She then obtained a Masters in Organizational Dynamics from Antioch University, integrating her previous business experience with her social services work.
Vicki also serves on the Board of Directors for Tavon Center, a horticultural therapy program for adults with disabilities.
